Svadisthana: 'Utilisation of creative forces into all aspects off being'

Aura's flow freely, Expressing an emotion, Often blinkering a true feeling in the inner being. 'Svadisthana' has meanings both positive and negative. Right now I hold elements off both....I'm creative and withdrawn...we must wonder why we become over-dependant and seek comfort in the safety off home comforts, If we have previously spent life seeking to better and gain;

My realisation this month: 'You can lose your path, but you will never lose your talent,'

As an artist, once you stop making you feel a sense of being 'broken,' turning you into a machine that just lives to work, works to live...As an artist I have re-found my path and will proceed to try never let it go again....I want all fellow artists to remember, the 'loss' isn't the job you have or the money you earn....it's the beauty you are able to create, so keep creating! So I have been forced back into my artist self, which is great! We all get wrapped up in the day-to-day too often. Housebound and Creativity flowing, sometimes illness has it's uses! Been Starting, what I would personally class as my 'doodles' in the less conventional form...

Motivation....

So we all have those weekends were we go back to work and think why the hell am i not making art at anymore....It has actually been 6 months since i made any! i don't think i can even call myself an artist..... So its 18th Feb....and i'm 25 in a few months....my mission is to have sold or be organising some sort of exhibition by my birthday! so i best get cracking!! Hopefully you will see some new lovely things here soon! thanks, Sonya

been a while...

So its been a while since i posted on here.....
my arty ways seems to have disintegrated....which SUCKS!

I miss my sewing machine and making pretty things...

i made a little self portrait with some of my embroidery....



I have my *fingers crossed* for a job with a creative side...but we all know how hard that is to come by!

I plan to make more work and sell work on a site called....ETSY,
I also have two planned exhibits in the summer.....
AND i got to see one of my favourite artist work this month,
YAYOI KUSAMA @ Tate Modern, check it out! such amazing work!

the shop isn't officially open til monday but then its up for all to see,

Update

So i got a high 2:1.....
happy with that!

On the arty front......
I am going to have my work in a shop on display soon in Exeter!

I am currently working on some designs for a poster to promote a photography competition which i will pop on here when its done! Its fun doing something arty again!

HOPEFULLY going to embroider some bags, so you may see some stuff on here soon for sale and also a website that is up and running as well!

I'll update with photos from the shop when i've got it all up....
got to write another artist statement so i may pop that up too!

So its been busy busy!

i seem to update this thing once but with soooo much to say....

This is how my studio looked before i moved into my exhibition space and the 3D figures started to evolve......

well its been a busy easter....
I have been at my sewing machine most days or in the studio :)
its been quite refreshing to be honest its so nice to enjoy what you do!

Digital Textiles :) Test Piece

the first test strip which will be printed onto fabric :D the background colour is going to be an issue i have to resolve.
My other piece's are yellow dyed fabric, so i need to play around with different tones of yellow so that the piece flows with the rest of the figures.....



I am slowly falling in love with idea of becoming a graphic designer.....

IT week...

so this week i have been trying to conquer the crazy confusing programmes of web design....its been a mission,
but im nearly there so i may be adding a link soon to my website!

my work is in slow progress, the hours in the day seem to be disappearing at the moment but i will upload some more pictures soon! i will be doing the digital elements this week hopefully, so i may have some of my own fabric printed by next week!!
